Parking at 1850 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Walnut Creek

There is metered parking on both sides of the streets adjacent to my office building. It is usually easy to find a space. The meters have a 2-hour limit and take quarters, dimes and nickels. A quarter buys half an hour. The meter maids patrol frequently.

There is underground garage parking accessible from Bonanza Street, with an elevator that goes directly to the 4th floor. Look for the entrance to “Gateway Centre parking” not far from the intersection of Bonanza St. and Mt. Diablo Blvd. This is a self-park garage with narrow parking spaces. It costs $1.00 per half hour.

Directions to1850 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Walnut Creek

From Hwy 24:

Take the Mt. Diablo Blvd. exit just before the freeway splits into I-680 North and South. You will want to be in a middle lane approaching the exit, more toward the right. Follow Mt. Diablo Blvd. under the freeway to Bonanza St. (third traffic light).
Turn left at Bonanza for either garage parking or street parking along the pavement adjacent to the building. To avoid steps and inclines to the street entrance, go around the block by continuing on Bonanza, turning right on N. California St. (first intersection), then right again on Mt. Diablo (first intersection).

From I-680 Southbound (i.e., coming down the freeway from the north):

You have two choices:

1. Exit at Main St. and continue southbound on Main St. until N. California St. splits off to the right (after Parkside Dr.). Then continue through town on California until you reach Bonanza St. (for garage parking) or Mt. Diablo Blvd. (for street parking). Turn right and park.
2. Stay in the middle lanes on I-680 past the split-off to Hwy 24, then take the Olympic Blvd. exit (first exit after the split). Get in the left lanes in the off-ramp and turn left onto Olympic. Follow Olympic under the freeway, then turn left on Alpine Rd. (first street after clearing the freeway) or S. California Blvd. (next intersection, after passing the Long’s Drug shopping center on your left).
   If you turn on Alpine, follow it a couple blocks to Mt. Diablo Blvd. and turn right on Mt. Diablo. Move to left lane and turn left on Bonanza St. See second paragraph of directions from Hwy 24 (above) for street and garage parking access.
   If you by-pass Alpine and turn left on California, stay in the left lane and turn left again at the next intersection, onto Mt. Diablo Blvd. Find street parking along the first block of Mt. Diablo, or turn right on Bonanza for garage parking or further street parking opportunities.

From I-680 Northbound (i.e., coming up the freeway from the south):

Take the Olympic Blvd. exit and turn right at the end of the off-ramp, onto Olympic. Then either turn left on Alpine Rd. (first intersection) or S. California Blvd. (second intersection, past the Long’s Drug shopping center on your left).
If you turn on Alpine, follow it a couple blocks to Mt. Diablo Blvd. and turn right on Mt. Diablo. Move to left lane and turn left on Bonanza St. See second paragraph of directions from Hwy 24 (above) for street and garage parking access.
